How it works

1

Describe your desktop design

Enter column count, fixed-width elements, smallest tap target, and hover-only features.

2

Get a mobile-fit score

Mobile Fit weighs column collapse risk, fixed widths, tap target size, and hover dependency against small-screen usability norms.

3

Adapt and re-test

Stack columns, enlarge tap targets, and add tap equivalents for hover features, then test at 375px.

Frequently asked questions

Why does column count matter so much?

More than 2 side-by-side columns almost never survives unchanged to a 375px screen — each one needs an explicit stacking or collapsing plan.

What is the minimum tap target size?

44x44px is the widely cited minimum for comfortable touch targets (Apple and Google both recommend similar sizes).

Why flag hover-only features?

Touch devices have no hover state, so any feature that only appears or activates on hover is effectively invisible or broken on mobile.
