Each observation is entered with the user type, journey stage and a severity rating you assign based on how much it blocked the user.
A keyword scan against common UX problem categories (navigation, clarity, trust, performance, content) attaches a problem tag to each observation.
Observations are grouped by problem tag and journey stage, and weighted by severity to surface the highest-impact area first.
Each observation is scanned for keywords associated with common UX problem categories — for example "find," "lost," or "where" map to navigation, while "confus," "unclear" map to clarity.
It gets tagged as "general" so it still appears in the summary — you can retag it manually with a clearer problem-specific phrase if needed.
Ten minor annoyances may matter less than two task-blocking failures — severity weighting keeps the summary focused on impact, not just volume.
Run one digest per product area for the clearest comparison; mixing areas will still work but blurs which part of the product needs attention.
