How it works

1

Enter baseline, current, and target values

Add the outcome measure's value at the start of treatment, its value now, and the goal value being worked toward.

2

Add weeks elapsed

Tell us how many weeks have passed since treatment started, so progress can be measured against an expected pace.

3

Get percentage improvement and pace

We calculate percentage improvement toward the target, then normalize it against a typical progress benchmark to produce a rate-of-progress score.

Frequently asked questions

How is percentage improvement calculated?

It's the change from baseline to current value, divided by the total change needed to reach the target, expressed as a percentage. This works whether the outcome measure improves by going up or down, as long as baseline, current, and target are entered consistently.

What is the rate-of-progress score based on?

We compare actual percentage improvement against an expected pace benchmark of reaching the target over roughly 12 weeks. A score of 100 means progress matches that expected pace at the current week; higher means ahead, lower means behind.

Why 12 weeks as the benchmark?

It's a common general reference point for rehabilitation progress tracking, used here as a simple, transparent default. Treat it as a planning reference, not a clinical standard for any specific condition.

Can I use this for any outcome measure?

Yes — enter whatever numeric outcome measure your program tracks (a functional score, a pain scale, a range-of-motion figure), as long as baseline, current, and target are on the same scale.

Is this medical or clinical advice?

No. This tool is an operational and administrative planning aid only. It does not provide medical, clinical, or legal advice, and it does not diagnose any condition. It also does not store or transmit real patient data — all calculation happens client-side in your browser, with no backend involved.

Does this replace a proper outcome-measure instrument?

No. Enter the score from whatever validated outcome-measure instrument your program already uses — this tool only calculates progress and pace from the numbers you provide.
