What counts as a good friction score?
Under 5 is low friction, 5-10 is moderate, and above 10 is high. There is no universal "good" number — compare it against your own past flows or a competitor's equivalent journey.
Should every flow aim for the lowest possible score?
Not always — some steps (like a payment form) are necessary friction. Use the score to spot unnecessary steps, not to eliminate every step that adds any friction at all.
Can I map more than one flow?
Yes — reset the form and map each critical journey (onboarding, checkout, first action) separately.
Does this replace user testing?
No. The score is a quick structural signal. Real user testing will surface friction this formula cannot see, like confusing copy or unclear navigation.
