Where does the cost data come from?
Entirely from what you enter. Build Cost Compare performs the arithmetic (subscription plus hours times hourly value) on your own numbers — it does not know current platform pricing or your actual build speed automatically.
Why include an hourly-value assumption?
Subscription price alone misses the biggest cost of building software: time. A cheaper subscription that takes twice as long to produce a working result can easily cost more overall once your time is priced in.
What if I'm not sure how many hours a platform will take?
Run a small representative task first and extrapolate, or use a conservative estimate and re-run the calculator once you have real data from a trial.
Does this account for code quality differences?
