White space map
All entries ranked by opportunity score
How it works
-
List candidate gaps
Add audience segments, use cases, pricing angles, or experience differences you suspect are underserved.
-
Rate market coverage and demand
For each one, mark how well the current market covers it and rate the demand signal you have observed, from 1 (weak) to 5 (strong).
-
We calculate an opportunity score
Score = (2 − coverage level) × 20 + demand signal × 12, capped at 100. Under-served gaps with real demand score highest; crowded or low-demand ones score lowest.
-
Focus on strong white space
Entries scoring 65+ are flagged as strong white space — the best candidates for a focused positioning angle.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the opportunity score calculated?
Opportunity score = (2 − market coverage level) × 20 + demand signal × 12, capped between 0 and 100. Coverage level is 0 (nobody serves it well), 1 (one or two players), or 2 (well served). Demand signal is your 1-5 rating of evidence that people want it.
Why include demand signal instead of just coverage?
An uncovered gap with no real demand is not an opportunity — it is usually uncovered because nobody wants it. Weighting demand evidence keeps the tool from flagging non-markets as white space.
What evidence counts as a demand signal?
Customer interview mentions, support ticket volume, search demand, community complaints, or a fake-door test are all valid signals. Rate honestly — a 5 should mean you have real evidence, not a hunch.
Can I compare white space across all four gap types at once?
Yes — audience, use-case, pricing, and experience gaps are all scored on the same 0-100 scale, so you can rank every entry together regardless of type.
What should I do with a "strong white space" result?
Treat it as a hypothesis to validate further, not a guaranteed opportunity — follow up with direct customer interviews or a small test before committing product roadmap time to it.
