Frequently asked questions
Does this tool read my actual quotes?
No. It computes a score from the counts you enter — total quotes, tagged quotes, and theme count. It does not access, analyze, or store your real quote text.
How many themes is too many?
If you have many themes with only one or two quotes each, they're likely too granular — consider merging related ones so each theme has enough evidence to be credible.
What's a good tagged-quote ratio?
Aim as close to 100% as practical. Untagged quotes are effectively invisible when you're trying to find supporting evidence for a specific finding later.
Should I tag quotes during or after the interview?
Either works, but tagging within a day or two of the interview — while context is fresh — produces more accurate theme assignment than batching weeks of quotes at once.
