Does Shift Gap automatically find and assign staff?
No. It calculates how severe a given staffing gap is so administrators know which gaps to prioritize — it does not search staff databases, send messages, or make assignments.
Why does lead time affect the severity score so much?
A five-person gap discovered a week out is far easier to resolve than the same gap discovered a few hours before shift start. The scoring reflects that urgency directly.
Can I use this for non-clinical shifts too?
Yes — the role-criticality field lets you mark a shift as administrative/support rather than patient-facing, which lowers the severity score accordingly.
Is this medical, legal, or staffing-compliance advice?
No. Shift Gap is an operational planning aid only. It does not determine legal safe-staffing ratios, does not access real scheduling systems, and does not store or transmit any real patient or employee data — all calculation happens client-side with no backend.
