How it works

1

Enter performance figures for both carriers

Add on-time delivery rate, damage rate, cost index, and claims count for Carrier A and Carrier B.

2

We calculate a weighted composite score

Each carrier gets a 0-100 score from on-time rate (40%), damage rate (25%, inverted), cost index (20%, inverted), and claims count (15%, inverted), each normalized against a reasonable cap.

3

Get a ranked winner and the score gap

The result names the stronger carrier, shows both composite scores, and reports the point gap between them.

Frequently asked questions

Does CarrierScore AI pull live carrier performance data?

No. CarrierScore AI computes results only from the numbers you enter — it does not connect to live carrier scorecards, telematics, or freight networks. It is a comparison calculator, not a live monitoring system.

Where do these carrier figures come from?

Use your own shipment records, carrier-provided scorecards, or your TMS reports. Even approximate figures from a recent period give a useful comparison.

Why is damage rate inverted in the score?

A lower damage rate is better, so the score rewards carriers with fewer damage incidents by inverting the percentage against a normalization cap before weighting.

Can I compare more than 2 carriers?

This tool compares exactly two carriers side by side. To compare more, run the tool multiple times pairing different carriers, or track the leading carrier against each challenger separately.

What does the score gap actually mean?

The gap is the difference in composite points between the winning and losing carrier. A small gap means the carriers are closely matched; a large gap suggests a materially stronger performer.

Is the winning carrier guaranteed to be the right choice?

No. The score reflects only the four metrics entered. Contract terms, capacity, lane coverage, and relationship factors should also inform your carrier decision.
