Does FleetUtilize track my actual vehicle usage automatically?
No. FleetUtilize computes results only from the figures you enter — it does not connect to a real telematics, GPS, or fleet-management system. It is a planning and estimation calculator.
What counts as "utilization rate"?
Use whatever consistent measure you already track — percentage of days a vehicle was active, or percentage of its capacity used on average. The calculation works the same either way as long as you use the same definition for the average and target.
How does the spread figure affect the estimate?
The spread approximates how much utilization varies across your fleet, letting the calculator estimate how many vehicles likely fall below the target versus above it, rather than assuming every vehicle sits exactly at the average.
Is the right-sized fleet number exact?
No, it is a proportional estimate based on your average utilization and target — a genuine per-vehicle analysis would refine this further, but this gives a fast directional answer.
Can I use this for a mixed fleet of trucks and vans?
