Frequently asked questions
Does LoadCraft assign specific orders to specific trucks?
No. LoadCraft computes results only from the totals you enter — it does not connect to a live fleet, telematics, or order-management system, and it does not run a real bin-packing or route-optimization algorithm. It is a planning and estimation calculator.
Why does the score use the higher of weight and volume utilization?
A truck reaches its real limit at whichever dimension fills first — a load can be well under its weight limit but already over on volume, or vice versa, so the binding constraint is the honest utilization figure.
What if my orders exceed both weight and volume capacity?
The tool reports the larger of the two overage percentages and suggests trimming the load or splitting it across a second vehicle.
Does destination count affect the score directly?
No, destination count is shown as context rather than folded into the numeric score, since stop-level time and sequencing depend on route specifics this calculator does not model.
Can I use this for vans or smaller delivery vehicles?
Yes — enter that vehicle's actual weight and volume capacity and the calculation works the same way regardless of vehicle class.
