No. PromoStock AI computes results only from the figures you enter — it does not connect to your sales system or scrape historical data. You supply the previous lift percentage from your own records.
What if I have no previous campaign to reference?
Use a conservative estimate based on industry norms or a similar product's promotion, and lean toward a larger safety buffer to offset the added uncertainty.
How is the safety buffer used?
The buffer is applied as a percentage on top of the base promotional requirement (baseline demand × lift × duration) to account for forecast error.
Can this handle multi-week promotions with changing demand?
This calculator assumes a steady lift across the promotion window. For promotions with a ramp-up or ramp-down, run it for each phase separately and sum the results.
Is this the same as a full demand-planning system?
No — this gives a fast directional estimate from figures you already have. A full demand-planning system would incorporate seasonality, price elasticity, and channel-level detail.
